As an example, the difference between products labeled as ‘organic’ and ‘certified organic’ are not clear to consumers. The National Association for Sustainable Agriculture, which certifies organic agriculture and food production, emphasizes that certification to Australia’s voluntary National Standard is key in assuring consumers that every step of the process has been verified.
