Canadian company SunOpta has acquired Organic Land corporation, a grains handling and processing facility in Silistra, Bulgaria, for 3.2 million euros, including debt. The facility is currently producing sunflower kernel, oil and related by-porducts for SunOpta. Located near many growers producing organic sunflower, flax seeed, corn, barley and soy beans, SunOpta plans to expand its presence in the region in these categories.
