The Organic Standard reports that non-conformities among organic operations in Denmark have declined. In 1999, Denmark reported that 26 percent of the farmers had standards violations vs. 10 percent of operators in 2011. Most violations in 2011 were for animal welfare issues, even though many Danish operations don’t involve any animals, whereas a decade before most violations concerned deficient records.
