In 2011, Estonia had 101,906 hectares, or 12.8 percent, of its farmland fully converted to organic production. Of that land, two-thirds is organic pasture, and devoted primarily to beef and lamb production. That same year, there were 55 organic processors. Meanwhile, shoppers spent on average between 3 and 5 euros per person on organic food, and demand is exceeding supply. RIMI supermarkets offer a full range of Estonian organic products from the Estonian co-operative “Eesti Mahe.”
