European Union ministers failed to agree on proposed changes to organic regulations, and pushed back a vote until June, according to Food Navigator. IFOAM, along Copa-Cogeca and the European Federation of Trade Unions in Food, Agriculture and Tourism (EFFAT), sent a joint letter urging the EU to harmonize procedures for dealing with pesticide contamination without introducing a decertification threshold, and to combine risk-based inspections while maintaining annual inspections.
