At a conference following the membership meeting of Synbio, a panel consisting of the president of Agence Bio, and representatives from the umbrella organization of organic farmers FNAB, Synabio and Coop de France discussed the proposed changes to the EU organic regulation. Organic-market.info reported that one area that drew criticism was the move to stop allowing farming operations to have both organic and conventional production. Panelists remained skeptical about the changes, and encouraged vigilance to make sure France’s perspective is taken into account as the proposal moves forward.
