With the opening of a new location in Rosenheim to the south-east of Munich, Basic organic supermarkets now have 28 stores in Germany and Austria, with two or three additional new stores planned for 2014. In 2013, Basic stores sold approximately €118m, up six percent from 2012. The newest 800 square meter shop features fresh produce, meats, cheeses, bakery, vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free foods, along with environmentally-sound cleaners and laundry supplies. In addition, an in-store bistro offers lunch and snacks, and has seating for 30.
