Eleven of 18 organic retail chains in Germany added stores in 2012, resulting in over 57 new organic supermarket openings in 2012. Organic-Market.info reported that Denn’s Bio led the expansions, adding 28 new outlets, followed by BioCompany with seven and  Alnatura with six new stores or re-locations. The average retail area of the new openings by the chains is 495 m².
