Indian organic market sales are expected to grow to the equivalent of 690 million US dollars this year, according to the International Competence Center for Organic Agriculture ICCOA, a four-fold increase from 2010. Thanks in part to government grants and other incentives, farms continue to convert to organic production. In 2012, the organically farmed area is expected to reach two million hectares, or about 1.5 % of the total farmed area.
