Shoppers in the Netherlands spent 1.13 billion euros on organic foods at supermarkets, specialty stores and farmers markets in 2014, up six percent from 2013. Furthermore, restaurants and food service are also increasing organic offerings. Across Scandinavia sales of organic products is growing: sales in Sweden were up 38%, in Norway, the growth in retail was up 28%. Demand is outstripping supply in some categories, especially organic dairy and pork.
