 An annual count by the Friends of the Earth shows that the number of organic products typically found in supermarkets in the Netherlands is up ten percent over 2012, with an average of 155 products on the shelves. Availability of Fairtrade products is up 20 percent, with an average of 41 products for sale. Since the group began counting the products available in 1998, organic product supply has increased 16 percent each year on average. The supermarket chain Hoogvliet led the way with 398 organic products.
