The Soil Association’s Catering Mark program, which encourages use of fresh, sustainable ingredients that are free form harmful additives and are better for animal welfare, reports that over a million meals which meet at least the program’s Bronze Standard are served every day. Catering Mark meals are served in 25 percent of English schools, in over 30 universities, in hospitals, day care centers, and workplaces. Those who hold Catering Marks spend over £7 million pounds on organic ingredients each year, as well as over £40 million pounds on British ingredients annually.
