The Organic Brazil project, a public-private collaboration, encourages the Brazilian organics industry, opens frontiers, and expands international market for Brazilan products. Made up of 74 member companies promoting their products together at trade shows worldwide, the project saw a turnover of US$46 million in the first half of 2012. Because most of the companies were focused on strengthening the domestic market, 2011 ended with exports amounting to US$87 million, down from US$108 million in 2010.
