Singapore-based Olam International seeks to expand its organic tomato exports from its United States operation, which could displace China as the world’s leader in organic tomato exports. Ten to fifteen per cent of exports from Olam's US branch is organic tomatoes from California. The company wants to increase that level to 20-25 percent. Although Olam’s tomato exports have been concentrated in Middle East and Latin America, the company is increasingly looking at Europe.
