The Canada Organic Trade Association reports that Canada is streamlining and reorganizing all food regulations. By 2015, Canada’s Organic Products Regulations will be annulled and rolled into the “Safe Food for Canadians Regulations.” The new regulations will be broad in scope and govern organic products, commodities, and marketing boards as well. It is expected that any food product which crosses a provincial or international border will have to come from an operation that has a license from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and has a food safety plan in place.
