With a membership of 600, and five retail store locations, EVG Landwege, a producer-consumer cooperative headquartered in Lübeck, Germany, emphasizes organic products from nearby. The operation has had an increase in demand for meals, and expanded its central kitchen, which produces 200 meals per day for both take-away and the in-store bistros. Approximately 68 percent of their turnover comes from fresh foods, with 30 percent of their offerings from 30 producer members located within 70 kilometers of the stores. In total, the shops offer around 6000 items in the product range, which includes a comprehensive selection of vegan products, wine, and cheese, primarily from Germany and Europe.
