According to a press release from the New Zealand-based farmer-owned global cooperative Fronterra and its Anchor dairy brand, organic milk sales in New Zealand are up more than 50 percent int eh past year and the overall organic food and beverage market there is valued at NZ$133 million (about US$97 million). Furthermore, 72 per cent of New Zealanders say they would buy more organic milk more often if it was more affordable and 25 per cent say it would make a difference if organic milk was available in their regular supermarket. The company is introducing Anchor Organic milk to cafes, foodservice outlets, dairies and supermarkets nationwide.
