The Soil Association’s annual Organic Market ReportWorth £1.95 billion, organic sales grew by 4.9 percent in 2015, resulting in a 1.4 percent share of the food and drink market. Among the highlights, organic food service is up 15.2 percent. Supermarkets move 69 percent of the organic market, with independent retailers at 16 percent, and box schemes at 12 percent. The top performing food and drink categories are  jams and spreads (up 28.1 percent), fish (up 25.1 percent), and oils and vinegar (up 17.5 percent). Sales of organic health and beauty products are up 21.6 percent and organic textile sales are up 16 percent.
